Day 265: Week 38
Today has been rough. Eamonn went to bed with a small fever we thought was from teething. He was fine all night, but at 5am he woke up with a fever of 103. I gave him ibuprofen which took an hour to bring down his fever. I took him to see his doctor at 8am. She examined him and took urine fr two tests. The first test took about 30min and showed some trace white blood cells, so his body is fighting something but we aren't sure what. It could be a urinary tract infection or it could be a virus.
Throughout today his fever came back under just the ibuprofen, so now we're alternating that with tylenol. The doctor also swapped his specific antibiotic for the type of UTI he had before to a more broad range antibiotic that should be able to fight off whatever he has. He has to be 24 hr without a fever to go back to daycare, so we'll be home again tomorrow. Poor buddy does not like having fevers. But he had some fun today when he was feeling better...
